P.A.I.N. Lab

This piece employs a fabric installation to convey a state that ‘appears controlled yet threatens to collapse at any moment’. Fabric fragments are pieced together to trace the trajectories of figure skating glides and jumps, forming a coherent route despite their fragmented nature. Red thread, like taut nerves, binds the fabric while simultaneously destabilising the structure, conveying the sustained tension and precarious balance inherent in performance. This work explores the visual innovation that may emerge from the space between order and chaos.
