Branding, packaging design and publicationMeaning “new,” Neue explores the beauty standards that shape contemporary Indonesia. Influenced by regional trends, media, and long-standing social expectations, these ideals often present transformation as something to aspire to, encouraging individuals to alter their appearance in pursuit of acceptance, desirability, and belonging. Presented as an archive, Neue brings together products used to modify the eyes, skin, hair, and body. Through these everyday objects, the project examines how beauty standards are not only consumed, but quietly internalized, becoming part of how people see themselves and others.
