Echoes of Belongings

Following a visit to the OSPAAAL collection, this project creates a dedicated digital space that preserves and shares the narratives surrounding the May 1998 Riots in Indonesia. The website is both a storytelling platform and an archival resource, aiming to capture not just the tragic events themselves but also the broader context and deep-seated history of anti-Chinese sentiment in Indonesia leading up to the riots. Through curated articles, personal testimonies, and striking visuals, the project highlights the lived experiences of Chinese Indonesians during a period marked by violence, hardship, and resilience.
