“Her Radical” combines linguistic research, typeface design, and publication design. It examines Chinese characters with the ‘女’ (female) radical, exploring how language shapes perceptions of female emotions, morality, and identity within character structures, and how these meanings are historically and socioculturally reinforced. The project is presented as a book, a reconfigured typeface system, and posters, prompting reflection on language, gender, and power.
