Dream Idol is a fictional entertainment company that critiques fans' sacrificial consumption. The project binds idols' fabricated perfection to the fragile imagery of balloons. Under capital's manipulation, genuine affection turns into consumption tasks. Fans no longer act because "I like it," but to "prove their devotion." I created an interactive installation where audiences invest their time to customize their dream perfect idol. The result: fans are exhausted, yet unable to stop. Joy becomes obligation. Love becomes shackle.
